Family
My husband Peter and I met in college at Georgia Tech and have been married 3 years. He’s a chemical engineer who works for a decking composite company called Trex. He’s very handy and likes fixing and building things. He’s a fun, patient, loving husband and we enjoy doing things together. We like to going to wine tasting classes and festivals, playing with our American Eskimo Dogs Toby and Casper, cooking together, travelling, spending time with family, riding our bikes together, trying to garden, and watching movies. We live in a two-story house on a cul-de-sac with a small yard for Toby and Casper to play.
My mom Kathy is a caring, dynamic, and strong person. She and her Siberian Husky Sierra live in Lilburn, GA in the house we kids grew up in with a big yard, woods, and a creek. She gave up being a nurse and taking care of patients about 30 years ago to take care of some cuter, shorter people at home. She has an incredibly well-landscaped yard/garden and I’m convinced her green thumb could coax absolutely anything into growing. She spends a lot of time taking care of and having fun with Chrissy’s kids as well as being a good friend and sterling example to her own children.
My dad Terry is a really fun guy to hang out with. He lives in a condo in the uptown part of Atlanta called Buckhead. He retired a few years ago from being a Senior Executive Vice President of a company called Gentiva owned by Marriott. He used to play football in high school and college at the University of Northern Colorado where he met my mom, but now that time has conditioned him into a state more perfectly fit for golf, he has switched to that.
My older brother, Trevor, studies Chemistry at UGA and works for the USDA. His wife, Kendra, recently graduated from UGA with a masters degree in Public Business Administration and works for the Red Cross. Trevor and Kendra have been married for almost two years and live in Winder, GA with their two cats Token and Jordy.
My sister Chrissy is a Labor and Delivery nurse at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. She says she likes working there because it's the only time people come to the hospital for a happy reason. Her husband Jonny works for a computer network company based out of California, so he travels a lot. She has three kids, James, Alaina, and William. James is 11 and just started 6th grade in July (which is way too early for school to start). He's not only intelligent in traditional book-smarts, but he's also very clever and creative in the way he looks at the world and the out-of-the box questions he poses. James is also very sweet, polite, and thoughtful. Alaina is a little pixie, boisterous and cute. She just started kindergarten and is really enjoying it. She loves her dance class, making pictures (usually involving stickers), dressing up, playing with dolls (strawberry shortcake), and arranging things. William is 3 1/2 and has always been a little climber. He's a lovey, gregarious little fellow who will just climb right up into your lap and snuggle. He really looks up to and likes playing with his big sister. Chrissy's family lives on a friendly cul-de-sac in Loganville, GA.
My younger brother, Trent, studies business at Perimeter College and lives in a house with his friends Blake and Brett in Chamblee, GA. He's very athletic and played competitive-level soccer for about 18 years. He's also great with kids, so he's planning to get training to be a referee for kids’ soccer games. His girlfriend Tara goes to UGA. She's cute, fun, and fits in well with our family.
